FICA testing centres to reopen on Monday 29 June

The FICA Assessment Centres in Cambuslang, Glasgow, and Tullos, Aberdeen, will reopen on Monday 29 June.

Work has continued throughout the lockdown to update the FICA to ensure it is compliant with all aspects of the 18th Edition. In addition, FICA booths and the FICA assessor and candidate instructions, which candidates are encouraged to use throughout the FICA, have been updated.

Fiona Harper, Director of Employment and Skills at SELECT, said: “If you have an apprentice or adult trainee scheduled to sit the FICA, we would encourage them to access the guidance on the FICA candidate section on the website.

In addition, candidates can access the following aides which will help them prepare:

  • Section C – Inspection and Testing, ten short videos on Initial Verification of Electrical Installation
  • Section E – Fault Diagnosis and Rectification, short online learning tool
  • Section E – Underpinning Knowledge Assessment, mock assessments

Fiona added: “In the last week, the centres having been working hard to ensure they are complaint with all health and safety measures. We wish every candidate the best of luck.”
