Solar PV (Edinburgh)

This 3-day course is aimed at experienced domestic and commercial electricians, who wish to include Solar PV in their offering.  This course would also be suitable for electricians who are responsible for the maintenance of Solar PV units.  Completion of this course will provide you with Level 3 Certification, increasing your credibility and giving you the competitive edge, as well as showing your customers that you are trained to the highest of standards.

You need to hold the following Qualifications to enrol on this course:

  • Current Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) Qualification (Equivalent SELECT course Requirements for EI - course 218)
  • Level 3 (or equivalent) Qualification in Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations ( Equivalent SELECT course Initial Verification (209) or Inspection & Testing of EI including Periodic Inspection (214))

Note:  Completion of the FICA/ACA won't be accepted by GTEC Training/LCL Awards as completion of the above qualifications. 

You will need to bring along to the course a copy of the Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition Wiring Regulations) BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 (Brown Book).

This course does not get you MCS Accreditation.  However, it will enable you to meet the training entry requirements for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Battery Storage (Edinburgh)

This 2-day course covers the installation of dedicated Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems.  This course will provide theoretical and practical knowledge enabling you to apply the relevant regulations and guidance when involved with battery storage systems.

You will need to hold the following qualifications to enrol on this course:

  • Current Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) Qualification (Equivalent SELECT course Requirements for EI - course 218)
  • Level 3 (or equivalent) Qualification in Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations ( Equivalent SELECT course Initial Verification (209) or Inspection & Testing of EI including Periodic Inspection (214))
