SQA Customised Award in Initial Verification of Electrical Installations (18th Edition) Course (209)

This SQA approved training programme has been designed for practicing qualified electricians who want to keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date in relation to inspection, testing and certification of new electrical installations and additions and alterations.

The aim of this training programme is to help delegates build their knowledge and practical skills in Initial Verification and in the requirements for certification. This course will help delegates understand the requirements contained in the latest version of BS 7671 for such work.

This programme is made up of two parts. There is a short online course on ‘An Introduction to BS 7671’ that needs to be completed and delegates also need to successfully complete a one-day training course on Initial Verification of Electrical Installations to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022.

The online component compliments the material that will be covered on the day-training course. To get the most from the training day we ask that delegates complete the online course fully before attending the day-course.  If this isn't possible, we do allow for this to be completed within four weeks of the training date.  However, this course must be fully complete before a SQA certificate will be awarded.

The online course should take approximately four and a half hours to complete. To complete the online course, candidates will need access to Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition Wiring Regulations) BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 (Brown Book).

Successful completion of the course is accepted by the SJIB for Grade Card renewal.

Note:  This course only covers inspection and testing of new installations.   Are you looking to cover existing installations/periodic inspections and EICR's.  If you do, then you should be booking into our Periodic Inspection (214) course instead.
